Messages from the Universe

I've always believed that rainbows were the world's way of telling you that everything is going to be okay. Last Thursday, I was having a minor moving-across-an-ocean meltdown. I walked out of my house to get a breath of fresh air, and was greeted by this:

The Last of the Karaoke Nights

Not just a Karaoke Night, a Hot, Kona Karaoke Night...

"I've been cheated...been mistreated...when will I be loved?"

Dancing with Ed, who I think kept trying to cop a feel, which is why I kept employing dance moves such as this one, which allowed pleeeeeeeenty of space between us.

For some reason, I think it's a riot that there is so much space between Mariah and I in this picture. We're all, fine, we'll take a picture, but we are NOT TOUCHING.

My favorite Kona bartender, Kris. At one point towards the end of the night, I went to the bar and asked for our tab. He simply answered, "No," and brought me another beer instead.

Mariah, Eric, Ed and I--with a seemingly unusual number of hands on my torso.

Paul and I. Paul sings lots of country songs. I love country songs. Therefore, indirectly, I love Paul.

"All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...I'm leaving on a jet plane, I don't know when I'll be back again..."

Sure gonna miss my Juni.

Roy, who kept buying us beers because we were "so hot and awesome," Mariah (in Eric's hat) and Eric, getting down with his bad self.

Mariah and Eric flirtin' like high schoolers (it was cute to watch,) and me, shakin' my thang.

Aww, Hawaii, thanks for the memories... It has been fun.
